Last Thursday, amidst palpable anticipation, members from our wider MDC Community including our beneficiaries and partners gathered at the Langham Melbourne for our annual Media Launch. It was a momentous occasion where we unveiled our commitment to raising essential funds for ovarian cancer research alongside our longstanding dedication to breast cancer research. The atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm and purpose as supporters, stakeholders, and media partners listened to researcher Heather discuss the importance of research funding for improved outcomes.
The esteemed Clint Stanaway lent his mc-ing talents to the event, guiding us through the program with grace and warmth. He shared his own personal connection to ovarian cancer, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to Clint for his invaluable contribution.
Our Media Launch marks the beginning of our 27th campaign with renewed vigor and purpose. For the first time in our history, we proudly announce the inclusion of fundraising initiatives for ovarian cancer research (OCRF), alongside our continued support for breast cancer research (NBCF). This expansion reflects our unwavering commitment to combating women's cancers on all fronts, as we join the movement together to stop both breast and ovarian cancers in their tracks, for good.
Amidst the festivities, we were privileged to invite two remarkable individuals who embody the spirit of resilience and hope. Renee, a breast cancer survivor, and Tarni, who lost her late mum to ovarian cancer. Tarni shared a heartfelt tribute to her late mother, which fueled a sense of purpose throughout the room.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all our partners, ambassadors, and supporters who joined us for a purposeful morning to raise awareness of our campaign’s launch.
