About the Role
We’re looking for a passionate and organised Volunteer Coordinator to lead the planning and delivery of our national volunteer program. This is a year-round, part-time role (scaling from 2 to 4 days per week) and is central to the success of the Mother’s Day Classic – a national event series that raises vital funds for breast and ovarian cancer research.
This newly created role will focus on the 2026 event and beyond and is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic events environment and wants to be part of a cause that touches thousands of lives across the country. You’ll oversee volunteer strategy, recruitment, onboarding, compliance, communications, and recognition – and play a vital support role during our flagship events, including in Melbourne.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver an annual Volunteer Program Plan based on feedback and data
- Lead volunteer recruitment and onboarding, including role design and roster development
- Manage the Rosterfy volunteer platform and maintain accurate volunteer data and reports
- Deliver timely, engaging communications and support campaigns in partnership with Marketing
- Coordinate volunteer collateral, training resources, handbooks, and recognition programs
- Provide on-the-day support at major events, including Melbourne
- Support the onboarding and management of state committees and local hosts
- Monitor compliance including WWCCs, supervision needs, and inductions
About You
- Experience coordinating volunteers or working in events/community engagement
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Confident in managing and analysing data for decision making
- Experience using volunteer platforms (Rosterfy experience highly regarded)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools
- Able to engage a broad range of stakeholders with professionalism and warmth
- Calm under pressure, solutions-focused, and passionate about volunteerism
- Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in a related field
What We Offer
- Meaningful work with a purpose-led national organisation
- Scaling work structure:
• 2 days/week (June–Nov)
• 3 days/week (Dec–Mar)
• 4 days/week (Mar–May) - Hybrid working supported – minimum one day in the Cremorne office per week is required.
- 13.5% superannuation
- One additional rostered day off per quarter (pro rata for part time team members)
